Yee-haw!!! Ride ’em cowboy/cowgirl!
We enjoyed a very busy evening at the Nag’s Head for the annual Scalby Fair Beer and (this year) Rum Festival.
To add to the atmosphere we enjoyed live music throughout the evening, and Morris Dancers performed in the street due to want of space in the beer garden.
The garden space was crowded not just with beer and rum fans. This year we made room for a Rodeo Bull which, for a small fee would attempt to throw off the passenger whilst the brave rider tried to hold on.
Annabelle, a young rider, was the winner on the evening as she lasted for 78 seconds. We hope she will accept a small prize for her feat of endurance on Fair Day.
In addition, we also had fun with a wet sponge “Cowboy Stocks”. A lot of revenge was taken with the Scalby Fair Chairman and James (the Landlord of the Nag’s Head) taking their turn in the stocks, amongst others.
All good fun, and a very enjoyable evening.
Our thanks to the Nag’s Head for hosting the event, to our beer and rum providers for the excellent refreshments, the excellent guitarist, and the Rodeo Bull owners and the Scalby Fair team and guest artist (Stacey) for the stocks. And, especially, yourselves!
